Friends can't join on the game, chats, party etc.

Here is the scenario. Both of them are playing together in their different consoles. But suddenly they can't see each other. They can't even join games hosted either of them. Also they can't join chats and party of one another. What is wrong here? They got open NAT and they are connected wirelessly in their school.

I would suggest a reboot of the system totally by all parties involved with this issue, to do this you must do the following in this order.

first turn off all the xboxs involved then unplug them from the wall, once unplugged unplug modem and router, wait 5 minutes and plug modem back in, then wait 5 more minutes and plug router back in, then plug in xboxes, and try again, if that doesnt work it is a network issue with the schools internet and id suggest calling 18004myxbox or using the following link to contact support.....support.xbox.com/.../contact-us

hope this helps and as always thanks for choosing xboxlive for your entertainment needs :)

When someone can't connect to a party or chat, that usually has to do with their account no longer being Gold, but instead being Silver. However, if both accounts are gold I would recommend both accounts to Clear their Xbox Cache (click link to learn how to clear cache) and to delete their PROFILE ONLY and then re-download it on their console. That will usually do the trick to fix your problem.

If the problem isn't resolved, please come back to forums and we can think of other methods to fix your situation. Also, feel free to contact an Ambassador at any time and we can assist you via IM Chat.

Greetings RJeanMicah!
they are connected wirelessly in their school.
There is always a struggle for any NAT mapping behavior when two hosts, on the same internal network, exchange their public addresses to each other.

If they have been able to connect to each other in the past, (with identical set up) what they could try is reset their console's network settings to factory defaults. Ask them to browse to Xbox network settings and select Configure Network. Select the Additional settings tab. Select Restore network settings to factory defaults. Reconfigure Xbox wireless settings.

If they still experience difficulties connecting to each other, have them contact their school's network administrator, to see if there has been any significant change on their network. Alternative, have their network administrator to redo any registration for their respectively MAC addresses.

Keep us posted!
