Hey Smith, thanks for the thorough first posts! :-) Okay, for this disconnection issue I'd like to try resetting the console's network settings to factory default. You can do so by following these steps Please let us know how it goes! :-D

Reset network settings to default:

  • Go to the Settings hub.
  • Select System.
  • Select Network Settings
  • Select your network.
  • Choose Configure Network Settings.
  • Scroll to the Additional Settings tab.
  • Choose Restore to factory defaults.

Fitzer, I've tried that before, but I did it again anyway. No luck. I'm really at a loss. I've tried everything that I can possible think of...reset to default, cleared cache twice, port forwarding, port triggering, DMZ, changed MTU to different sizes, static IP for xbox, downloaded profile, even formatted the HD. I've also tried many different games, it even disconnects while on the dashboard/home. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

No if you change mtu it will *** it up try diagnosing the connection just reset it leave it a lone and wait 2 or 3  hours then see how it is if it is better then let it sit there for the rest of the day if it is worse unplug it and let it sit there for the rest of the day.

Hey there Smith! Thanks for trying all those steps. One thing I didn't see was whether or not you tried enabling UPnP on your router. If that doesn't help, try connecting directly to the modem rather than going through the router. If this does help, it would narrow down our search to the router. Let me know what you find out, thanks!

Hey Gwyther, UPnP is enabled right now. I have recently tried connecting directly to the modem and had no issue. I understand that it is no longer an xbox live issue since we have determined that the router is the common denominator, but this is a brand new Cisco e4200v2 router and I have contacted their customer service 4 times already with no luck. Would you have any suggestions for router settings that may cause me to lose connection after a little while?

Thank you!
