Frequent disconnects to xbox live

I have been having this problem since I first got xbox live.I'll be playing a multiplayer game like Modern Warfare 3 but after a while it diconnects.I've had it since April so I don't know if I would of had problems before that but it gets really annoying.I have tried everything, including:restarting my router and modem, clearing cache on my xbox, and resetting to factory settings.I live in Massachusetts,USA.My modem is a SURFboard Sb5100.My router is a Linksys WRT54G.I am using a wired connection.I dont know if UPnP is enabled.I do not have an NAT error or any error codes. My ISP is comcast.

Hey there Leo! I understand you are having some connection issues when playing MW3. Does this only happen during this game, or does it happen in other games, apps, or just on the Dashboard? Also, are the results you posted here from a network test immediately after encountering this issue? If not, please wait for another disconnect and then run the test. Please post those results back here as well.

Finally, your connection may play a part here. To determine that, can you please go to http://speedtest.net on a computer on the same network as your console, take the test there, and post the result image back here. Thanks!

The diconnections happen on other games, the Dashboard, and apps. It's just more noticeable with MW3 because most of my time online is spent on that. The results of the test are from immediatley after a disconnect. Here are the results of the speed test although I'm fairly sure it's not my internet because my other devices are fine and I can reconnect to Xbox Live immediately after a disconnect.[View:http://www.speedtest.net/result/1937565418.png]

Sorry for the delay, LeoAssassin98. That was my goof and I do apologize!

Since you're not sure if UPnP is enabled let's go ahead and make sure that's set up. Here's a guide from Linksys for how to configure UPnP for your router: www6.nohold.net/.../ukp.aspx. Give those steps a shot and let me know if you notice a difference in your connection.

Thanks in advance, LeoAssassin98. Standing by for your response.

UPnP actually was already enabled so that crosses out that as a problem.I also want to say that my games lately have been lagging more often and are having the error message about communication with the servers being interrupted more often too. It's even more irritating because none of the tips for internet connection problems seem to help.

Thanks for the reply Leo! Do you have manual port forwarding (support.xbox.com/.../network-ports-used-xbox-live) set up on your router? If so, you may want to disable UPnP and try again. Please let us know if that's the case. Thanks!

I'd be interested to know if the problem persists when you use a direct connection to your modem via an ethernet cable. Can you give that a shot and let us know? Thanks!

I can't, there's only one port on my modem and that's already in use because it connects to my router.
