Hey there HANDYEND5443866,

For starters, you stated you purchased a new router. Was this to resolve the issues you're experiencing?  What is the make and model of this router?

How does the xbox connect? Wired? Wireless? If wired have you tried changing out the patch cable? If wireless did you manually configure channels or any other setting on the router?

You were experiencing these issues prior to procuring a new router?  Have you contacted your ISP to make sure they have run all of the tests on their end to make sure their equipment isn't faulty?  Who is your provider?

Have you tried deleting and re-downloading your xbox live profile?

i have tried both wired and wireless, from the old router and the new, i manually configured all channels, at first i thought the issue was the router, hence why i bought a new one, i have contacted my ISP and we ran many test together  and everything was fine on their end. my ISP is distributel in Canada.

Thank you for that information.

What is the make and model of your router?  What channel do you have it set to?  I've got the D-Link Dir 655 and I ran INSSIDER to find the channel with the least amount of traffic on it to use in my neighborhood.  I found that when I manually configured my router to one channel the xbox wouldn't connect, but when I would switch it to another channel it would connect just fine.  I'd recommend If you could try changing to different channels, usually (1....6....or 11) to see which one works best for you.

You said you were still having this issue while connected using a patch cable as well.

Could you let me know what type of xbox do you own? Is it an older model or the slim? How old is it? Did you purchase it new or used? You may have faulty hardware however, I don't want to go down that route just yet.

What version of the firmware are you using on your router. Usually when you access the router it will be in the upper right hand corner of the menu.
