Freezing!! Can't play!!! Can't even see the dashboard!!!

Today, I bought a new game for my Xbox 360 Slim, and I turned on my Xbox to play it. A new system update was available, so I told it to install. After downloading/installing for 30 minutes, I was finally able to play. I played my new game, Spider-man Web of Shadows for about 45, then turned off my system to eat dinner. Afterwards, I went to play again. I turned on the system, and I saw the Xbox logo animation, then the 2 circles loading screen. This went on for about five minutes. I plugged in a wired controller and pushed the guide button. I tried to sign out (as I was signed into my father's account), and the Xbox froze. No button did anything. I pushed the power button. Nothing except the 'powering down' beep happened. I pushed the power button again, and the system shut down. I waited a minute or two and turned the system back on. This time, it froze on the 2 circles loading screen. The circles stopped moving, and I was forced to turn off the system with 2 button presses again. I couldn't reach the dashboard either times to clear the cache.

The system is still freezing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid I can't speculate as to the exact source of the freezing issue. However, the whole shebang should cost around $99 if you use that link I provided.

Aw, man. Well, thanks for the help. Do you have any idea what the shipping would cost and why it's freezing in the first place?

If the console had frozen without completing the update, there would be a couple things we could try here. As it is, I'm afraid that the only course of action at this point is to have an official repair for the console.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I have looked through the wizard. I've moved the system so no electronics and other junk were near it. I don't have a hard drive, so that solution didn't help. I managed to clear my system cache when I was signed out, and it didn't help.

Once, I was able to access the dashboard while signed in, but the Game, and Video Marketplaces were missing. When I tried to access them from the Xbox Guide button, the console froze, and I couldn't get to the Dashboard while signed in again. Anything else?

Um, anyone? Also, I had only a few megabytes let on my console when I updated it. If I manage to load up a game disc before going to the dashboard, I can play just fine. However, the dashboard will not work if I'm signed into a Xbox live account. If I sign out (so I'm not signed in to anything) I can access the dashboard. Any tips guys? I don't want to have to send my console in for repairs!!!
