Fat and Slim 360 External HDD Recognition Help

Hi all,

I have a 500gb Fat32 formatted WD external HDD (so I can use it on both PC and Mac) that I want to put some of my save files onto.  I am in the process of backing up my files onto my PC so I can configure with my Slim 360, but I've read in other posts that that much space is too big to be recognized by the 360, is this true?  Also, will older fat 360s recognize the slim configured HDD?  I've heard other having some issues with that.

Thanks =)

The 360 will only use 16 GB, but your HDD will still work, you just can't use more than 16 GB of it on 360 (should be plenty for some save files).

External USB  HDDs really shouldn't care if they are on a fat or a slim. Only the HDDs made for 360s care if they are on fat or slim.

OK, thanks =)

After configuring the drive, it says that my device is below the Performance Recommendations.  What exactly are the Performance Recommendations? I can't seem to find them, other than buying a 360 usb flash drive.
