Family subscription login issue

My son is trying to log onto Live with his profile and it is prompting him to verify his email for security.  His account is under the family plan, however.  Everyone else on the plan can log in.  I try to input our email/password and it says it is incorrect.  I checked our family account on the xbox website and his name/account/gamertag is there like usual.  Any ideas what is going on?  He is frustrated and so am I ;)  Thanks!

There was some Xbox Live issues as they have been resolved but please contact our email support or phone support about those family login issues as their hasn't been a report about that.
