Family Gold acct won't let me add existing live acct

I am able to add the user to my family of an existing but I get an error that says "Gamertag"was added to your family but there was a problem adding them to your Gold family pack. Try adding them again later. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do have the tag active on this console. They are able to log into Xbox live but they just aren't becoming a part of the Gold Family pack. It does indicate that the primary console controls the account

I use the family pack myself, and I ran across this before. You'll have to delete and recover the gamertag from your console, and then you'll need to try to add it again. Worked for me. I think it is due to a communicaton error while downloading the account to the console.
