family center vs profiles

what is the difference between family center setup and profiles on the xbox?

I have two kids and want to limit each to 1.5 hours a day.  If i setup the daily limit to 1.5 hours is this total or for each profile?

Can I password protect each profile to keep one child from using the others?

Thanks in advance

I believe the Family Timer on the console is just one running clock regardless of who is using the console at the time.

As for the passwords, every account can have an Xbox LIVE passcode set up on it that can keep their accounts secure from each other. We have a little info and steps for setting these up on this support doc

Thank you.  I found out that this is just a block of time.  Hopefully this will eventually be changed and tied to individuals.  I can see my kids fighting over this one:)

As far as passwords / security; I managed to figure this out. Your link was very helpful.
