External HDD Confiquring Whitout Losing Data

hi there

i have a western digital external hdd 320GB USB2 and 2 years ago i configured it for reserving 5GB to use with my xbox 360

and now i want expand the xbox 360 storage to 16GB on my external hdd

the question is :

can i reconfigure my 5GB to 16GB without losing my data ???

Unless the hdd came with software to allow partition resizing without data loss then yes you will lose all your data. What you could do is move the data to your console hdd temporarily (or to cloud if they are just game saves), partition the external hdd and move it all back again.
