Ethernet Port not working...I guess.

Hello,

I took my ethernet wire out of my xbox.
Then I tried to put it back in and it didn't work, I could not get internet on the xbox.
But when I connected the same wire to my laptop, the laptop recieved internet connection.

I already called xbox support and they said they did not know what was wrong.

So, has this happened to anyone, and if it has, how did you fix it?

Hey mate, there could be several things at play here,  but my first question is whether or not the console recognized the ethernet cord. If it didn't, please try a different cord, just to be sure the issue isn't with the first cable. If the same issue occurs, then the ethernet port on your console will need to be repaired.

A friend had similar issue and he got the ISP's DNS IP Address and applied to his xbox360!

I'm guessing it did not because when I went to connect the ethernet cord and test the connection, it kept telling me to plug it in.

Also, my dad works for rogers cable so he cut the cord, incase it was broken.

Then he made a new one.

Still didn't work, Even when he used a store-bought wire, we could not get the connection.

And for repairing the ethernet port, we were going to send it in, but I wanted to check the forums first.

last suggestion from would be to try a different port on the router, however if the box doesn't pick up connection when ethernet cable is inserted then burnt NIC could be the issue with your 360.
