ERROR STATUS REPORT

OK SO after running a test , i get to press the "Y - status" button.. and i get an error status report that looks like this:

w 0000-000b

x0000-000d

y 20a8-4800

z 0000-0000

id: ffff-ffff

i have my xbox wired to the router..(wndr3700 netgear)

i've given the xbox a static ip

i've opened ports listed on xbox website

i've opened the nat

i've turned on upnp

i've restarted the router between all these times, restarted modem also..

configured the manual settings in the xbox... restarted the xbox several times also...

so i tried wiring the xbox straight to the modem.. i was unsuccessful... i probably typed in the wrong mac address in the xbox

doesn't matter.....

i DECIDED to connect wirelessly.. and after the test there's no "Y - status" button option

so i'm guessing everything is fine.... but my curiousity doesn't sit well with this...

I THOUGHT WIRED IS SUPPOSE TO BE BETTER THAN WIRELESS????? What the heck

can someone shed some light on this please?

I've even tried doing the DMZ ...

here are some web links that i've tried following their instructions

portforward.com/.../default.htm

www.freewebs.com/.../ports.htm

is it true that enabling upnp on the router and configuring xbox to auto.. is similar to opening ports on the router + giving the xbox a staticip (or reserved) and configuring the xbox manually?

in other words is it true that i can't have upnp enabled and ports set to open for xbox?

Well the WXYZ and ID numbers show up even if nothing is wrong, what error are you getting when you run the connection test. If you aren't getting a screen that says there was a problem and to select more info for a description then your connection isn't having any issues. If you're getting something else please let us know.

i guess i thought my connection was strong enough.. but according to you, i've been barking up the wrong tree.... i wonder how i can stop those hackers from kicking me from the game
