I haven't been able to connect my profile to xbox live since early January. I've chatted with support reps online and over the phone several times, and they have not been able to help. They've apparently escalated my issue, but I haven't heard anything back yet in the weeks since. I've been patient for the past two weeks in case it was a problem with my ISP (Time Warner Cable), so now I'm reaching out to you guys for help.
Here is the initial error message:
"Your console can't connect to xbox live. Do you want to exit this session and test your network connection? ... 80151909".
After doing the following:
- test xbox live connection (green across the board)
- followed the 80151909 support article
- deleting profile
- clearing cache x3
- re-downloading xbox live updates
- power cycling modem, router, xbox360:
- changed MS account password
- required profile download via website
- switch wired <--> wireless
- youtube video guides for "80151901" (which didn't help)
"Sorry, xbox live profiles can't be downloaded right now. Try again later. 80151909."
My console can certainly connect to xbox live and download profiles. I can download and access my brother's and friends' profiles just fine. In fact, my brother saw the same error message (the first one) when he tried to sign in to my profile on his console (different state, different ISP - Comcast). So that leads me to believe that it is a problem with my profile itself, not my console nor my connection.
I had changed my gamertag less than a week before this issue occurred, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I first saw this issue when I was trying to set up my 360 as a Windows Media extender so it could play videos stored on my PC - it prompted me for an optional media update (which i already had) and signed me out, and since then I have not been able to get back online with my profile.
Here are the current error status reports for my wireless and wired connection in case that's helpful. Earlier this month either the L or the Q for the wireless connection was "8015-1909". It's not that anymore, but 80151909 is still the error code.
