Error Code 80048821

I tried to access my account today, but I received a notification for security proofs that requires my account name and password to continue. I forgot my password at first then reset it, but I still get the same error message.

A way to fix this problem is by Deleting and re-downloading your profile.

  • Removed Profile
  1. Go to Settings, and then select System.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Select All Devices.
  4. Select Gamer Profiles.
  5. Select the gamertag that you want to delete.
  6. Select Delete.
  7. Select Delete Profile Only.
  • Clear System Cache
  1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
  2. Select Storage or Memory.
  3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller.
  4. Select Clear System Cache.
  5. When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.
  • Re-download Profile
  1. Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller).
  2. Select Download Profile. (Not seeing Download Profile? Press X to sign out of your profile.)
  3. Enter the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag. If you don’t know your Microsoft account or password, see Find your Microsoft account or password.
  4. Now, enter your Microsoft account password.
  5. Select the storage device for your profile (for example, Hard Drive).
  6. If you’re downloading your profile to your own console, you can select the Remember Password option so that you aren’t prompted for your Microsoft account password when you sign into your profile.

im having the same trouble, i done it 4 or 5 times then just closed out of the email and password thing then it worked. But when i turn my xbox off and try 2 get on it again it keeps doing the same thing, this is pissing me off lol. Might go get a ps3

Sometimes you have to clear you cache 5 to 6 times. Its worked for me so far.

Ey ich flipp aus seid heute kommt eine scheiß meldung das angeblich meine e-mail oder passwort falsch sei obwohl alles richtig ist!!! Ich werde angemeldet, doch die meldung kommt andauernd wieder! CODE: 800 488 21. WAS SOLL DER SCHEIß ich zahl geld dass ich zocken kann und nicht das ich mir mein kopf zerbrech das der scheiß nicht funkt!!!! Will das dass bis morgen behoben wird!!! sonnst wächsle ich zur KONKURENZ!!!!! Nickname : xXi Andrej iXx

When i go to delete my profile to re-download it, i get an error message saying it cant perform action. any suggestions?
