Error changing e-mail adress

I've ben trying for 2 weeks to change my email adress of my gamertag, but it gives an error  "Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now.". I never change my email since the beginning. (I know about the 30 day rule)

Any ideas?

Sorry to hear you're having issues changing your e-mail.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, are you trying to:

Change the Microsoft account associated with your Gamertag using these steps?

  • If so, what step in that are you on when you get that error?
  • Have you recently downloaded your profile?
  • Is the new e-mail a Microsoft Account?



Please let us know and we'll work from there.

Hello Mister Fizzle,

I'm using the steps you've mentioned above.First, it askes me to enter my curent email and password, and then it askes me the new email adress and password which I want to change in to.It waits and says "Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now.go to xbox.com/accountswap"

The email I want to use as new is already set up as a Microsoft account.Also I downloaded my profile about 3 months ago.

Hey Venomz,

When this error message appears when trying to switch Microsoft Accounts and they are not in the 30 day "pending period," it generally means that a Gamertag is already associated to the Microsoft Account you are trying to move your content to. You may want to create a brand new email address and transfer the account to that one before associating a Gamertag to it.
