Error 831188FE and 80151012 *URGENT*

So I was logged into my XBL account earlier today, everything worked just fine. Tried logging on again a couple of hours ago... bam, it asks me to "Login with email and password", okay I think, and do it, and just as I'm about to press "Next" right as you select "Remember my password", I briefly log in, it says how many friends I have online etc, but then an error appears - 831188FE. The strange thing is we tried this on my BF's Xbox and he can log into my profile just fine, and I can log into his profile just fine from my xbox.

So what's wrong with my tag? Well, we called customer support, were told to disconnect, delete and re-retrieve profile, put it on a flash drive, clear cache etc, all to no avail because I kept getting the same message. So we tried resetting the password and we did it a good few times actually, because it didn't fix anything... My BF deleted my GT off of his Xbox because customer support told us to do so, but it still didn't fix anything.

I deleted my profile AGAIN after the PW reset but now I can't even retrieve THAT because it gives me a 80151012 error, and "Sorry, something is wrong with your account"...

Can someone please help me? It's kind of urgent as I'm a Youtuber and need my Gamertag online for certain content. So first thing's first, I need to be able to re-download my profile, fixing error 80151012, but then I also need to actually be able to sign into my profile and STAY online, fixing error 831188FE... From what I understand, that last error doesn't even exist in Microsoft's error database, so I don't know what to do...

(And btw, no, my Gold membership hasn't expired nor did I get banned)

Try now; earlier today around the time you posted there was a problem per support.xbox.com/xbox-live-status

STILL having the issue of not even being able to download my GT again, however my BF can and he can play on it.

I have been on support with Xbox live techies today again and they told me to clear the cache 3 times, change my security question/email/phone, sign out, turn the xbox back on and try retrieving it, I've repeated this process 3-4 times now and I STILL can't recover my profile. What do I do? Getting tired of this.

Can you try recover your profile onto a USB flash drive configured for use with the Xbox 360. Turn off your console and safely remove the hard drive. Plug in the USB flash drive and turn on your console. If this is a formatted USB you will be prompted to download the system update.

Post back and let us know if you were able to recover your profile using a USB flash drive instead of your primary storage device.

I tried this too and haven't been able to recover the file, same error message. :/

Worth mentioning is my BF recovered my file again recently just to test if it works on his end, and it works. And yet again, I can sign onto his profile but I can't recover nor sign in to my own...

I am starting to think this is on Microsoft's end and I wish someone could check my account to see if there's a hiccup somewhere in the system, preventing me from recovering it to my xbox. Maybe it even got blocked or banned because of having tried to fix this issue for so long now

Are you able to download your BF's profile onto your console?

Try delete the system update installed on your console and then download the system update.

How to delete system update

Go to System Settings and choose storage.

On your controller, press the following button sequence:

    Press the left bumper.
    Press the right bumper.
    Press the X button.
    Press the left bumper.
    Press the right bumper.
    Press the X button.

Can you verify if you are able to download your boyfriend's profile onto your console.

Can you also confirm that you have updated and added security proofs like phone numbers, alternate email addresses, and security questions and answers to your Microsoft account. This information is crucial to ensure that your account is well protected and meets the security standars that Microsoft now provides.

Now clear your Xbox system cache 3 times in a row, restart your console and try download your profile from LIVE.

Clear Xbox system cache (Remember, 3 times in a row)

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
  2. Select Storage or Memory.
  3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller.
  4. Select Clear System Cache.

Restart your console.

Download Xbox LIVE profile

Press X to sign out of your profile.

  1. Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller).
  2. Select Download Profile.
  3. Enter the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
  4. Enter your Microsoft account password.

Disregard the sign out procedure since I assume your profile has already been removed from your console.
