Error 68 message

Hi, im looking for some answers regarding the error 68 hard drive problem.

First off i was wondering if it is covered by Microsoft, if so i could get it repaired for free.

If its not does anyone know how much Microsoft would charge for it to be repaired, or would it be cheaper just to buy a new one?

Lastly if i did get a new hard drive could i still tansfer all my data from the broken one to the new one.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

All I know is from years back when I got the dreaded RROD they charged me $137 to fix it then ended up giving me that money back as the RROD was a huge problem they decided extend the warranty on the fault. Not sure how it all works now but you used to be able to get a free transfer data cable too, I got one when I upgraded from the 20gig hdd to the 200gig.Back then all you had to do was ask for it and they sent it out. Dont know if the cable will work if you hdd is messed up though. Have you tried the usually tricks, unplug everything, take the hdd off and put it back on etc? If that has all failed I think there is no way around it, your going to have to call...............SUPPORT! poor you lol.
