English console in Japan

Not wanting to go a year without gaming, I had my 360 shipped over, but when I plug it in the light on the cable box doesn't turn on, and the console doesn't either. Do I need a power converter or something? I looked online before I left and someone had said that it would work. If I do need one, does anyone know what kind?

The only officially supported answer to that question is to call local XBOX support and order a Japanese power brick.

You could probably use a power converter of some sort, but now you're adding something else into the mix that may not like being run constantly. I would just go with a replacement power brick.

I'm on UK English, would a power converter work? Or could I get a different power cable and connect it to the same concole?

UK english or USA english?

The UK console power brick isn't rated for operation in Japan. The USA brick should function as it's spec'ed to work with both of Japan's power standards (100v, 50hz or 60hz).
