E74 -- Harddrive Effected?

Hello!

My Xbox 360 had an E-74 a couple weeks ago sadly. The cost to repair the console is greater than my budget allows.

A local video game store sells console without the hard drive at a cheaper price.

Is the actual hard drive effected by an E-74? Can I pop it off and put it in another console?

Thanks Travis

E74's an indication the GPU has failed. It does not directly impact the HDD.

As long as you didn't see an E-68, the HDD should be ok. You can pop it off your old console and test it on a new console. Be warned: It's not advised to purchase a used 360 as you never know what the previous owner did with it. It could be banned, or eligible for a ban.
