DVI-D Monitor won't recognize Xbox 360?

So I recently purchased the Xbox 360 VGA HD cables along with a DVI-D converter. I connected the converter to the VGA HD cable and plugged it in to my monitor (which only has a DVI-D slot). It doesn't work, for some reason. I tried changing the input select, but it was already on Analog and if I changed it to Digital, the screen would go blank for 2 seconds and revert back to Analog. I need help! I don't want to spend another 100+ dollars for a new monitor. BTW, the monitor is a Westinghouse, idk the model.

DVI-D is digital only. The port needs to be DVI-I for an unpowered VGA to DVI adapter to function.

Try an HDMI to DVI cable. That should work.
