DLNA playback

Does anyone have any information or a how to guide for connecting to a DLNA source and browsing / playing like I can on the 360?

When I launched xbox video (and after installing it) I couldn't see a way to browse local resources.
It was easy enough with the system video player on the 360...

Don't you need to sign up for a subscription before using the xbox video or music player for steaming?

i agree, i suspect that will be a feature added later (network browse). still i doubt they will add x264/mkv support so we will still need to transcode.

latman you need the subscription to use xbox music, and you can buy content using the xbox video app. but when stream locally/network it uses the apps functionality to play your content. so no subscription needed, but you do need to download the app

I tried to stream using skifta (as one of the reviewers demonstrated) but couldn't find my Xbox to stream to.

Figured it out, I have to have the music app open first before skifta will see it....
