Dissassociate a Live ID from Xbox

Hi, I bought a Windows Phone and it seems that it automatically created a Xbox account for the Live ID I used. I have a second Live ID on Xbox. I rather consolidate the two accounts so I can have only one Xbox and Windows Phone account, with no loss of my gamer points and history.

But now if I go to Xbox and try to change the Live ID associated with my gamer tag, it says that my Live ID is in use with a different game tag. How can I "delete" the Xbox gamer tag without cancelling the whole Live ID to free it so I can use that Live ID with my old gamer tag?

 

Please note, this is not about deleting a profile from the Xbox storage, is about deleting the whole Xbox info, including the gamertag.

Unfortunately, you cannot consolidate the two accounts. However, if you would like your main account linked to the Live ID from the second account, you should be able to do so by changing the desired Live ID to something else, to free up the ID. This page has steps on how to change the Live ID.
