Display problems.

I have a Xbox 360 slim that was working fine with our LG tv. We recently got a new power adapter and now whenever I try to get on, the display cuts off. I have a HDMI cable and normal AV cables. Both will show xbox loading up then after about a minute, it cuts off the display and the xbox is still on. It worked fine two weeks ago. I've tried both inputs for AV cables and HDMI cables. Flipped them, etc. I removed the disc, turned it off, turned on the xbox via controller, Y RT. Still no luck. I have seen similar problems to this on other posts and I have tried everything but it continues to load up normally for 1 minute and then cut the display off. (Both cables do the same) We only have one tv to try this on, so it is hard to say if it's the cords, xbox or tv.

Hey there Sorest,

Really sorry to hear you're having issues with your display cutting out.

I notice you mentioned getting a new power adapter. Is this an power cord for the console or your TV or something else?

A few things that will help us better understand exactly what you're seeing:

  1. Do you have the console launching into a game or to the dashboard?
  2. When the display cuts out, do you still have sound?
  3. If you leave it for a couple minutes, does the display ever come back?
  4. When this happens, what color is the light on the power supply?
  5. Have you tried starting up your console with the Hard drive removed? Also, make sure to remove any USB drives.

Please let us know and we'll work from there.

Is there a different TV you can try? With that, also try a different wall outlet. Connect the Power adapter directly to the wall outlet. Not through Extension cables or power strips
