Disk Drive/Tray Problems on Xbox 360 Elite

Lately I have been having lots of problems with my disk drive on the Xbox 360 Elite my 1st problem is that the drive will rarely read games and a lot of the time it says Open Tray. Now my games are fine there are no scratches on them and no disk burns half of them are quite new e.g. Crysis 2 and still it will not read them. My second problem is that the disk tray closes by itself after 10 seconds of me opening it which is extremely annoying. The Xbox is currently lying on it's side. Please help.

YEah your warranty is expired... You could pay Microsoft to fix it or get the XBox 360 slim. Its a wayyy better generation of xbox 360 than any other Xbox 360 console

Repairs range from 100$ to like 140$

New Xbox 360 slim models are

199$ for the 4GB Internal memory (no HDD) (You can buy an HDD for it though)

299$ for the 250GB HDD included

You would probably need a transfer cable which is like 20$

NOTE: The Slim HDD's are Completely different than the Xbox 360 "Arcade" "Pro" or "Elite"HDD's.  They will not work with the slim Thus a "transfer Cable" is needed
