Disgruntled

Hey MS if you keep your Gold requirement for Netflix and Facebook with the nextgen system I'm out. I'm totally fine with needing Gold for all sorts of things like intense multiplayer and any services owned by MS (b/c MS's network is much better than Sony's) but viewing Netflix on PS3 is rather easy and free. Considering Netflix is independent of MS and Sony, it would make sense that it would be free. MS is of course able to charge for whatever they want, just want to let you know the reason I won't be getting your nextgen console and will be going with a PS4. I'm saying all this in hopes MS will listen to customer feedback. If they do or don't, I don't really care, there are plenty of gaming options out there -- competition is heated. I just want to help you guys improve your future systems.

Thx.

Who is saying Sony wont be charging for app access next gen. They have already stated they want to go for a subscription based service

Sometimes I think people bought an Xbox purely for netflix

I feel like this post would do better in the feedback section of the forums.

some of us bought xbox for halo...

I chuckled when i read this part-

If you don't care then why create a thread about it?... I guess you didn't see the feedback forum??... You pretty much gave yourself the answer microsoft would have given you... I wonder though, in this day and age where you could get netflix and facebook on just about everything else for free, why complain about not getting it on xbox for free??... Ah well.

That is what my girlfriend primarily uses the X Box for. Maybe a occasional game of Civilization Revolution or Fable 2, but Netflix is why she has Gold.

Microsoft REALLY needs to stop charging for social media that is free elsewhere. And just for the record, I don't mind paying for a Gold membership to play online; it's a much smoother experience than what I get with Sony s offering.

Peace, J.R.

Edit: On the "free elsewhere" comment. I already pay for Netflix...it's free to access on my phone, computer, PS3, Wii, Roku box, etc..

What the heck he has the same post in another thread , what a joke -1

Yeah requiring a gold membership to use Netflix is a damn joke.  Thats one of the 52,345,373 reasons why I'm not going to buy Xbox 720....

Netflix creates multiple encodes for each platform it supports. As of December, they were creating 120 versions of each video made available for streaming.
I'm saying all this in hopes MS will listen to customer feedback.
MS does not read this forum. I hope they keep the Gold fee in place. It keeps XBOX staff employed and helps keep the riff-raff out.

Actually I guess this is one thing that I don't really understand either.   My phone has Netflix, my Roku box has Netflix, so does my PC ect.. I am not really sure why Gold would be a requirement for this on the 360, I mean don't get me wrong I could care less and am not complaining, I just don't see any good reason why it should be required for this service.  *shrugs*
