Disconnecting from xbox live.

I keep on disconnecting from xbox live i was on wireless and it kept happening every half hour or so so i decided to wire up my connection with an ethernet cable but it still keeps disconnecting its disconnecting as if the cable is being pulled out of my router(witch it isnt) and being put straight back in and i can reconnect straight away but then it just disconnects again later. I know its not my connection as my other wireless divices are working and i am experiencing no lag until i disconnect.

Hey there bud!

Sorry for the inconvenience you are facing! Have a little look at the Xbox LIVE Disconnects | Xbox LIVE Slow | Speed Up Xbox LIVE page for further assistance in terms of your console disconnecting from Xbox LIVE. Make sure that you have the correct router settings, such as having the specific ports forwarded and Universal Plug and Play enabled. Have a look at the Xbox 360 Network Ports page for more information on ports required, and how to enable them.

Just to make sure your network is speedy enough to run Xbox LIVE, could you perform a Network Speed Test and post the results here. Also, perform a Xbox LIVE connection test, and see if any errors appear. If they do, have a look at the Connection Errors page where there will be solutions specified for each error.

Hope this helps!

Keep us posted.

Glad to hear you haven't disconnected in a while, but I'm a little weary of that upload speed. We recommend a 1Mb/s connection speed for uploads. Slower can cause issues. The rest of your speeds look good though! You might call your ISP and ask if they have any advice for getting that speed higher. :)

Greetings FlubbedGilly!

Is there a way that you can post up a screenshot that will show us how you have manually forward network ports used by Xbox LIVE on your router?
