Have been disconnecting every thirty minutes for the last month or so. I recently changed to an Xbox-S, but I was told by Xbox Support that it is not the Internal Wireless Adapter. Connection is fine on a wired connection through both the modem and router, but disconnects when wireless through the router.

Thanks.

I had this issue when I first started using Xbox. Did you make any changes to your NAT before using the wireless adapter? And you said you tried opening ports, was this before the issue?

I opened the ports before and after, as I reset my router completely when the problem first occurred.

Camper, to better help us determine the source of the issue, can you please try connecting directly to the modem with an ethernet cable? You'll need to reset the modem when you do this. If that resolves the issue, we'll know that the issue is in the router, and we can go from there.

It works fine when connected with an ethernet cable directly to the modem.

Alright, can you try a few things?

1) Make sure there is no source of wireless interference in between your console and router, such as cordless telephone sets or gaming headsets.

2) If you were to imagine a straight line between your console and your router, how far would you say it would be? How many walls would it go through, including ceilings/floors?

3) Try changing your WPA2 passkey to something else to see if that resolves the disconnection issue.

4) Remove any accessories you may have plugged into your console.
