Disc Unreadable from Marketplace download?

I have owned the game Gears of War 3 on my xbox since it was on sale from the xbox marketplace online. recently after signing on and loading it up, I somehow got "Disc Unreadable" error for this download. So I unplugged the hdd, plugged it back in and same thing. Then deleted cache, deleted gow3, and redownloaded it to no avail. I can play my downloaded gears of war 2 with no error from the xbox mp, but i cant play gow3? Any ideas on what I can do before I go grab another hard copy?

first delete cache and then take and delete the game, and any other update files that might be in the file,  also try to move the gow3 content to a usb flash drive or somthing,  then take off the usb flash drive,  then delete all from gow3 file from xbox console.  restare , sign in,  and redownlaod game,  then update,  then try.   If still  no good , try to do a content transfer to the xbox,  make sure if was not bought under console or account,  support.xbox.com/.../download-content
