Disc Drive Suddenly not Working!?

I've been playing Discs just fine up until this morning! I left Dead Rising 3 in the Console last night. Woke up today, turned on the Console, and it will not recognize the disc or eject it!? I tried Manually Ejecting it with the paperclip, but I just hit what feels like a wall, and nothing happens. Can anyone help!?

Hey SHAPESTALKER,

Sorry for not responding sooner. Has this issue fixed itself? wondering if you were able to get the disc out by now. Can you insert a disc with no issues now or is it still doing the same thing?

You can use the Kinect to eject your disc by saying "Xbox Eject".

I am having a VERY similar issue!  I went to install Ryse to my machine only to find it stuck on 3% installation.  I can eject the game but whenever I put a new disc in all I get is the "Insert Disc" on the tile and I cannot even access ANYTHING on the console at all! (No apps, no Settings to try a Factory Reset, NOTHING).

PLEASE HELP MICROSOFT!

I recently read an article on Kotaku about others that were having this problem.  They claim to have found a fix.  Please use this advice at your own discretion though as it could void your warranty.   The idea is that there might be a gear in the loading mechanism that is out of alignment and can be "realigned" with a little force.

I had a similar problem where I can watch regular DVD but no Blu ray or play games/install games. Always said "insert disc" and got error message when trying to watch a Blu ray.

Call Microsoft support. I used the chat feature an spent 2 hours on with the guy. After 2 hours 9since waiting for the chat response took some time) he told me it had to get sent to for repair. No cost to me.

Next day I got my email, printed out the UPS slip and less than 3 days, got my xbox one in working order.

@Fluxcapacitor64 - Call Xbox Support and get it setup for a replacement. Grinding noise is an ODD failure and must be replaced.
