Delete Xbox account

So basically i want to delete my xbox account to make a new one without having to delete my entire micrsoft account.

Hello!

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forums with this inquiry. You are not able to remove an Xbox Profile from a Microsoft account. If you'd like to change you're gamertag you are able to do so once for free and it costs $9.99 for every additional change after that. Hope this helps!

Xbox Accounts cannot be deleted. However you can cancel your Xbox Live account by logging into account.microsoft.com and going to services and subscriptions. Find the XBL sub and cancel it from there. You can also remove all billing information from there. The gamertag will still exist and be attached to your account but you will no longer be billed.

You can change the xbox account name for a price but there is no way to delete an xbox account from an email...sorry...

the other option is to create a second microsoft account. (don't create a gamertag on it). Take your current gamertag and change the email to link to that email microsoft account. You will now have no gamertag linked to your current profile and should be free to start one again. Or at least this used to work. Never tried it now adays. But it should work in theory.

It works, I started a new MS account and moved over my gamertag, super smooth and within about 48 hours everything was humming along.

You can not delete your account without losing your purchases, just change your gamertag.
