you dont need the disk mate. The transfer cable I bought a few months back (official one) didnt come with a disk. Its now incorporated in the xbox somehow!!.

I just literally did the standard setup and transferred it over.

Hope this helps

Yeah, you don't need the disc anymore, as the software was installed as part of a previous dashboard update.

ah OK cheers for that!

that will make my life easier

It's much better too, you can now select what you want to move.

Also when you get your Gears xbox and have recovered/moved your gamertag to it, there's now an option on the actual console to run the DRM tool to move all the licenses over

its in the 'Manage account' options

That's good to know, I'll use it when I buy my new xbox!

ah cool thanks for all the helpful advise!

sounds like its much easyer than the last time i had to do it.

SirSkunkalot they are telling you lies its so hard to do that you should send the Gears console to me once you get it; i'll cover the P&P!

lol i think i will pass philip1979 !

but if you wanted i could post you a big box of GEARS from my old bike!

but there pretty heavy so it mite be a bit pricey :)

I'm going to take the deal up with Gamestation, trading in my 250gb Xbox S for the new Gears console - does anyone know if Gamestation will do the transfer for you??
