Dashboard becoming slow

Hello everyone,

After 13 days i noticed the dashboard becoming more lazy/slow.

Scrolling between pages (left, right) doesn't work fluidly anymore.

A complete restart (power-off) fixed it.

Why is that?

i just posted about this earlier.  Im guessing its a memory leak on the OS side.  Games worked fine.  Only fix is complete power off, which clears the ram.

A hard reset seems to be the only fix at this time. Things will improve overtime with console updates for sure though.

Mine is just the home page, when I go into the sub menus like snap or games it does not feel or look laggy. Does a hard reset fix it for a while or permanently?

It's just like any computer or phone, you have too many apps running and it's out of physical memory. Close some things, it doesn't have infinity RAM

If you feel things are getting laggy you can always try doing a power cycle to clear the cache and reset the network card. To do a power cycle, hold the Xbox console touch button for 8 seconds until the console turns off, then wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on. See if things improve afterward.

hold power button for 5 seconds until system turns off, then unplug power supply for 30 seconds. this resets the system cache. This worked for me yesterday, hopefully  it will last for a while and HOPEFULLY, they will release an update soon to fix the issue

I had the exact same problem, exempt mine became so bad that apps would hang, well the TV one did. I had to do a power cycle and that worked for me. Is there any way to shut it down (not put it on standby) and back on without resorting to unplugging it?

Keith

^Keith, you can change your power settings so when you shut down, you actually shutdown, not just put on standby. It will take longer to boot up, but should work. Unplugging it though is what resets the cache so you'll have to wait and see
