Controller issues

I bought a second controller, it did not work so I took it back. HMV gave me a replacement.

Problem is, the replacement is also "faulty" and I can't find the receit, now I'm starting to doubt that they actually gave me one.

It just flashes, and flashes and spins, tried putting in different batteries that were also fresh. Is the problem with my Xbox itself?

Tried everything found online, the manual ect. Tried pushing the button in mid-left, got close, let it spin for five. it did not connect so I hit the middle button, it began flashing again.

Has anyone else has this problem?

Help me out, otherwise then I'll accept that HMV has maybe cheated me and that's 32 pounds down the drain

I think I'll take it back anyway and at least try to get a replacement, I'm still under the return warranty so if I'm able to negotiate my way into it I might get a replacement, I'll post again once I've done this.

It sounds like you're not hitting the sync button on the console itself.

With your console powered on, hit the Guide button. Wait for the LEDs to start flashing. Once they're flashing, hit the sync button (near the Play & Charge cable port). The LEDs on the controller will start spinning. After you've hit that, hit the Sync button on the front of the consoles. On the original 360 it's its own button to the right of the MU ports. On the 360 S it's the IR window/button to the left of the front USB trap door. Once you hit the sync button on the console, the Ring of Light on the console should start spinning.

There's a decent guide on the XBOX site.
