Controller And Headset

I turn on my console, connect to xbox live, and create my own party, according to my xbox my controller is connected to a headset, which it is not. I try to connect my wireless headset to my controller but it is another failure, it  only connects to the second slot and when i try synching it to the first slot it only connects if my controller is turned off, when i turn my controller on my headset disconnects. Examples im in my xbox live party i have my headset on and my controller on, i cant communicate with my friends in the party, i press the synch button on my controller and it disconnects it, then i can communicate with my xbox live party, it does not make any sense, please help because I am about to throw my xbox out the window.

A wired headset will always take the 1st position over a wireless.

Your controller 'Thinks' one is connected to it.

Can you try a different controller?

Or may hook a wired one up to controller then remove it and see if you can fix it thinking one is in there

Hey there Frosty! Another trick is to remove all accessories from the console, sync the headset, then sync the controller. See if this helps, thanks!
