Console screeched and scratched my disc.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, I'm new at this.

I bought my children an XBOX 360 with Kinect/Adventures and Sports for Xmas.  We were so excited to play Adventures as a family.  We put the disc in the console, and were going down the river fine for about 15 min, when the console started making a ridiculously loud whirring sound and stopped.  I removed the disc, it is scratched in a circle and unusable!  BRAND NEW XBOX!

What do i need to do? Return the whole console? Will XBOX replace my disc?  I have the console laying on it's side now to ensure it doesn't happen again.

That usually happen when the console is standing and you move it.

Did you have the console placed on the ground or something?

It won´t happen again if you make sure the console will not be moved while it´s on and a disc is in it.

Hello, Opitc

I would suggest one of two things, get your console repaired or return to the retailer that you had purchased it from. Not sure if either will be able to help with the now damaged disk.

if you choose to submit your console for repair on the following site

myservice.xbox.com/.../Welcome.aspx

Microsoft also provides an Disk replacement program but this only work with Microsoft Games and costs about 20$, here is the site with more info

support.xbox.com/.../disc-replacement-program

hope this helps
