Console Hard Drive Question

Is it allowed in the terms to format a non-xbox360 hard drive for use to hold your information, for those who do not have the money to spend on low memory hard drives, at the cost of a terabyte computer one. I am asking this because i was thinking about trying to run a usb external hard drive from my xbox, since i need data storage ability, until the xbox 720 comes out, and i can upgrade into that. Thanks For The Help     -KPS

Yes you can use a USB pen or a usb external hard drive to save your contents, using a USB is cheaper than a external hard drive but has less memory generally,  a USB pen can store a maxinum of 16Gb, if you don't know how format a USB pen you can check information here:

support.xbox.com/.../usb-flash-drive

I hope this can help you.

Know that if you tamper with your Xbox in order to retrofit external storage, you are voiding your console's warranty should you damage it.

With that in mind, small USB thumb drives are certainly an acceptable storage alternative to Xbox branded drives.

As suggested a external hdd will give you 16GB of storage to store anything you get from Xbox Live on. You cannot create a internal hdd from a non microsoft hard drives, as thats tempering and in violation of TOS.
