My console has been banned today and I would like to know why and hopefully have it restored.
You can reach me by email.
Microsoft do not un-ban previously banned consoles as they are permanent. They do not ban people's consoles/accounts lightly, they do so after several investigations.
The most common reason for a banned console is modifying it, but there are other reasons such as marketplace theft.
You might want to post in section 14 in order to get an official answer. Although they might just delete your thread and post a link like below as they do not discuss console bans.

I can't believe this I don't know how to mod an xbox and I buy stuff legitimately off the xbox live market place... So does this mean I have to buy a new xbox or no xbox live?
You have 3 main choices:
1) Keep your current xbox and use it offline only (no Live)
2) Buy a new 360. If your gamertag is not banned, you can transfer everything over to the new one including arcade games, save games, and profile.
3) Don't use 360 products anymore.
This is just wrong... I wish atleast someone told me what I did wrong or I got a warning on my account because I have no idea.
