Connection Problems Please Help!!

I am trying to connect to Xbox live through a wifi connection (grey adapter). When I test my connection it fails at the connection between the internet and Xbox live. I think my problem is that my service is provided through a wireless hot spot and requires me to input a username and password but when I have tried to do this through the configure network, advanced settings it just causes more problems. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can resolve this?

Things you have tried: 
Is UPnP Enabled? Yes/no/Unknown
Is NAT Type Open? 
Any Error Codes you encounter: 
What type of internet do you have? Cable/DSL/T1/3G? 
Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? 
After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" and click on "More info", what is the exact message shown on screen?
