Connecting to X box live

Hi,

I am hoping you van help with the problem below.

I am not able to connect to Xbox live. I have checked your updates and it should be working but it isn't. I changed my password and tried to connect again but it still won't work.

My son has been playing Minecraft for months now and the game icon has disappeared from his recent list.

Last week I blocked and reported someone who told my son he would hack into his account so he couldn't play it.

Is it possible that he has done something to prevent the Xbox connecting?

Thanks,

Damien

It is highly unlikely that by reporting a person who threatened your son, you would get punished

At the moment I think there are still issues with the server.

You can check the server status right here

Hi,

I understand that there have been server issues and you are clearly busy trying to get them resolved.

I have waited patiently all day for the service to improve. When trying to connect to Xbox live I am asked for e-mail and password but I am getting the following error code 8015D002.

I live in Northern Ireland and my service provider is BT. I have an Ipad and laptop that have had no connection issues today.

Are you sure you have entered the correct error code ?

The system cannot find it, so i can't precisely know what the issue is

Things you can try to do

1) clear cache

support.xbox.com/.../clear-system-cache

2)If it still doesn't work after that

delete your profile (only your profile not anything attached to it)

support.xbox.com/.../profile-move-delete

And to clear things up, you said "You are clearly busy trying to get them resolved" ,an Xbox Ambassador is not a microsoft employee :) . It's not us Ambassadors doing anything about the server issues it's the engineers at microsoft.

Anyway feel free to message me to let me know if it worked or not and ill reply back on the forum

@neotyrantx

Can your xbox find your wifi signal

Is your network configurated automatic
Or have you set up a manual connection with your own

  • chosen IP (something like 192.168.0.xxx)
  • subnet mask (Most likely 255.255.255.0)

Have you perhaps tried a wired connection to see if it works then, this elliminates wrong network settings

FearedNightmare - I don't think my xbox currently can pick up my wifi, my IP and DNS are both auto, I have however restored my systems factory settings two or three times between Friday and sunday so i'm not sure if that would've changed my IP settings on my xbox and I have thought about using a wired connection to see if it worked but I was honestly being lazy on that part and hoping it would just connect to my wifi again..

You can check your Xbox's Ip by going to network settings and then configure-> manual configuration

Make sure that IP adress is NOT the same as any other IP on the network

The subnetmask however has to be the same as on your computer

You can find out your computer IPv4 and subnetmask by going to

start->run -> then type  "cmd"
Or start and then in the search section enter "cmd"
Open that as administrator (right click run as administrator)

In the black screen that popped up enter "ipconfig" and press the enter key
Now a bunch of things will show up including our IPv4 and subnetmask

But I suggest trying to use a cable first

I'm using a cable now, it works but.. my connection is worst than what it was using my wireless, that honestly makes no sense to me but would my IP have something to do with why my wifi doesn't work anymore or should I try using my wifi again?

If your Xbox uses the same IP as any other device on the same network it will not work , so on the WIFI part it could have something to do with it,

If your wired is extremely slow then it could have something to do with port forwarding
