Connected when testing connection but...

when trying to play a game, message comes up that I need to be signed in. When I hit OK to sign in, I get a message that says "unable to connect to xbox live". I know I am connected...I can watch Netflix. This started a few months ago, and when I couldn't figure it out, I just gave up. But I got new games for Christmas and I would like to play.

Hey Blade, have you had a chance to try re-downloading your profile? That may very well straighten this issue out. To do so, please try the following:

1. In 'storage,' move your profile to a USB configured for use with Xbox 360.
2. Clear the console cache.
3. Re-download your profile from the sign-in menu.
