Hello! I often receive a message to verify my live account when i login via my xbox 360 s console into my XBL account. All I have to do is to receive an Microsoft account security code via sms and mail. After I received the code via sms i type in the code and after i need to continue with the microsoft account security code that was sent to me via mail. But when i type in the code that i received via mail i allways get back the error message Code: 80049C23. When I look into the xbl support Webpage I can't find any Information regarding this code. Therefore my question is, why do i allways need to verify my account again and again via sms/mail microsoft account security code and why do i allways get back the error Code: 80049C23? Thank you for you help!

Hey Illusio! Have you made sure all of your security proofs are accurate?

Have you attempted to delete your profile (profile only), clear your storage cache, and then try and download the profile again?  

Here is how to do that..

Delete Profile Safely:
 

Go to Settings, and then select System.
Select Storage.
Select All Devices.
Select Gamer Profiles.
Select the gamertag that you want to delete.
Select Delete.
Select Delete Profile Only.

Clear System Cache:

Go to Settings, and then select System.
Select Storage.
Highlight Hard Drive, and press Y
Select Clear Cache, and press Yes.

Download Profile:

Push the middle button on your XBOX 360 controller.
Select Download Profile.

Hello Mister Ohnaka! My security proofs are accurate the only problem that pop's up ist the error code 80049c23 after i entered the second microsoft account security code that i received via email (The first microsoft account security code that is send via sms to my mobile phone allways works without any error code). However I deleted my xbox live profile and cleared my system cache according your advice. After I downloaded my xbox live profile. Everything seems to work fine again until now. Thank you very much for your quick response and help regarding my problem!

Sorry to hear Mister Ohnaka's suggestions weren't able to help resolve your issue.

Here's a few things I would suggest that you try:

  • If you have the two-step verification turned on/enabled for your Microsoft account, then you need to Create a new app password under App passwords
  • You will then use this new generated app password to sign in or download your profile instead of your Microsoft account password.


This is used for when you have the two-step verification turned on/enabled.


Can you verify that you have updated the security proofs like phone numbers, alternate email addresses, and security questions and answers to your Microsoft account
