Tried to log onto my xbox and both my accounts are coming up with this. I renewed my memebership in december, have reset my password so I know the password and I still cant get on.

Any ideas how I can fix this

Start with some basic steps on your console.

Clear your Xbox system cache. This will remove temporary files from the system cache.

  1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
  2. Select Storage or Memory.
  3. Highlight your storage device, and then press Y on your controller.
  4. Select Clear System Cache.

Download your profile from LIVE servers as follows:

Press X to sign out of your profile.

  1. Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller).
  2. Select Download Profile.
  3. Enter the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
  4. Enter your Microsoft account password.

Just done this a second time, now have a security check this time, It has now worked -thx

If you go to network settings on your console and Test Xbox LIVE Connection, are you able to connect properly?

Have you add and update the security infromation for your Microsoft account?

The first time it did not do anything, so I retried and got a security check, followed the instructions and it now works. The first time may have failed because I also had an unstable broadband connection for about 20 minutes  - thx for the help
