Cisco Linksys E1000 Wireless-N Router or Cisco Linksys WRT120N Wireless N Router?

Hello, I am running 2 Xbox 360s and am having problems with both of their NATs. I was looking at the following list http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-live/get-started/connecting/network-hardware-compatible-xbox-live.aspx and saw that my current router wasn't on there. I am currently using a Linksys WRT300N Wireless Router with a Comcast Ubee DDM3513 modem. My question is which router would I benefit from more with my modem? The E1000 Wireless-N Router or the WRT120N Wireless N Router?

Hi,

I wouldn't use either of those, I've found with Linksys that some models (even if listed on the certified list) still don't work with multiple Xboxes with an Open NAT.

I would go with a Dllink, something like the DIR-655 (its a great router although if your using the External N adapter it will only current connect in G mode http://www.unofficialguidetolive.co.uk/faqs/166-wireless-gaming-official-wireless-adapter-incompatibility-list) .

Or if you have the v1.0 or v1.1 WRT300N you use use DD-WRT firmware that should support multiple Xboxes.

It looks like you have a v1 WRT300N (it should say underneath) if so yes DD-WRT will work on your router. If you want to go down that route have a good read up about it on their site ,  bear in mind its 3rd party firmware so no support/warranty from Linksys

It is very popular firmware, or you could buy another router like I say I would recommend the DIR-655, but DD-WRT should get it working for free
