Child Account Promotion Problem

Hi,

My son recently turned 18 and we have tried a couple of times to promote his account from child to adult, without success.

We follow all the steps, enter cc info etc. (I use mine), but at the end we just get an error code.

His account is attached to my family gold membership, would that create the issue?

Also he keeps his GT on a memory cards, would that be an issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

The plan's only designed for two adults and two children so try taking him out of the plan.

At present I have 3 adult and 1 child accounts on the pack, so I don't think the adult/child thing is an issue.

If I take him out and enter the required cc information will the card be charged?  Also would I still have to wait five days before bringing him back into the family?

while attached to the plan, only the main account holder is considered an adult.  All others, regardless of age, are considered child accounts.

Oh, OK.  I didn't realize that.  That would mean my wife would be unable to download a M rated demo.  I'll check tonight.

Just checked, the wife is also blocked.  So all is working as is should.  My boy can make a silver adult account for any M rated demos he wants and all is good.

If you want, you can remove your son from the plan.  He will still be marked as a gold user and can upgrade his account to adult and play adult games.  You have to wait 5 days to re-add someone (your son) to the plan should you wish to.  He will revert back to child account while he is associated with it.  Of course, you could leave him off and then just re-add him to add points if you wish or just get him some points cards.

to make it easier just have him create a silver account for m rated demos

only ea games require over 18 accounts for gameplay and purchases
