Changing Live subscription?

Recently my Live gold expired and my account has been suspended, I've added a new payment option and it is all good except if i accept it says it will activate a 3 month pass but i want to change it to a 12 month (cheaper in the long run plan) is this possible?

Where are you seeing that 3-month option? There are 12-month subscriptions available, both through the console and on Xbox.com

well on either it says there is a problem and it says that it cant list my memberships on account management.

That's odd. If you visit https://billing.microsoft.com to see if there are any notices about your account there? Also, can you possibly try using a different payment method when upgrading? If neither of these solutions help your situation, you'll want to give phone support a call for further assistance at 800-4MY-XBOX.
