Change of Email address?

Recently changed my ISP. I want to change to my accont and gamertag to my new ISP Email. On saturday, Under "payment and billing" on Xbox1 I changed to new email address. Today Monday, I tried to add the Skype app to my xbox1, and it would only show my old email address. Under "About me" it also has my old address. I checked under " payment and billing" that has the new email. Is there somewhere else I have to go to change everything to the new email address.

Hey there,

What you have changed is just your payment and billing contact e-mail. To completely switch your gamertag to a new Microsoft Account, you'll need to be on an Xbox 360 and follow the instructions here

Thanks. I unplugged and packed away my 360 to set up my Xbox1. Is there no other way of changing the email address?

Hey try this :)

Go to account.live.com/.../Manage

Sign in with your current account.

Click "Add Alias"

Select the Lower "Radio" Button

Enter your ISP Email that hasn't been associated with any Microsoft accounts

Click "Add Alias"

Click "Verify" on your new ISP email.

Click "Send Email"

Check your email and click the link located within.

Once Verified go back to account.live.com/.../Manage

There you can select "Make Primary" on your new ISP Email.

After that is done You may either Remove or leave the First email.

If you leave it you may log in with either Email Address.

Let me know if this works for you :)

Some more info: The email I'm trying to add as an alias is a Microsoft one. Would I need to close that account down in order to add it to aliases?

Nine Eight Nine, As you are suspecting, if it's already A Microsoft Email, then you cannot add it. You can create an alias using an existing email address from other providers such as Gmail, Yahoo! Plus, or AIM Mail, as long as you haven't used the address to create a Microsoft account. The only way that I'm aware of having multiple "Microsoft domain emails" on the same account is to create alternate emails using the first "Radio" button and when doing that the email will have to not be in use so that you may create it.

Closing the account will not work (not soon anyways). The close/deactivate account takes a full 365 days to fully go through. After 60days all email is deleted, but if you sign in at all within the 365days you'll have the account reactivated and you'd reset the 365days as well if you choose to deactivate.

Nine Eight Nine, for your situation (if you have access to an xbox 360 console connected to live), i'd suggest using The link Mad Cow Dizease posted earlier in this thread. Here
