If you just created your account you can change your gamertag once for free (as long as 30 days have not passed since the account was created). Other wise you have to pay 800 Microsoft points. Having people report your gamertag will not get you a free name change.

  • You simply need one person to make a valid complaint on your gamertag.  Because your gamertag IS a violation of the Terms of Use/Code of Conduct, the name will need to be changed.
  • .
  • I suggest that you use discretion when choosing a new name, as multiple forced name changes will result in a permanent forfeit of your entire account, as well as everything you have ever purchased on it.

C. Consequences of Violations.

If you violate the Code of Conduct or the Xbox LIVE Terms of Use, action may be taken against your account, including without limitation the following.

  • Some offenses warrant an immediate permanent suspension, including without limitation: hacking, modding, fraud, severe racial remarks, nudity on the Xbox LIVE Vision camera or Kinect camera, repeated creation of inappropriate gamertags or profile content, or posting viruses or URLs to viruses

  • This is not true.  As I said before, the OP's name is in violation, so it only needs a single complaint, no more.

  • If everyone that has ever seen your gamertag files a complaint on it......nothing will happen, because "Doctalen" is an acceptable name.  The complaint system is NOT automated, each and every complaint is accessed by a real person, who will ignore every single false complaint.
