CavalierWings9 account made without me being the one that made it.

So, title speaks for itself. My boyfriend decided to give his old xbox live account to me, so I log in and tried changing the email and password to mine. I try logging in again and instead of the intended account, I log into this account. I know the live accounts are shared, which I find ridiculous, but doesn't this mean someone knows my email password? Isn't this a form of hacking? I don't understand this ***.

When you created a microsoft account/email, you generated this gamertag randomly. So his profile is still connected to his email.

Best you just use this one anyway, as transferring xbox live accounts to another person is a violation of the terms of use.

Also, you have a 30 day grace period to change the gamertag name for free. After that it costs 800 ms points.
