cant turn off auto remewal as email address is long since dead

so 2 years ago i had a nightmare of a time turning auto renewal off

and yes youve guessed it, its still the same!!!!!!!!!

had to sign up to 1 month xbox live (something i dont even use!!!) just to access borderlands2 golden keys

came here to turn auto remewal off and its trying to send some stupid security email to xbox account name (a long since dead email address)

changed my notification email but its still insisting on sending this security crap to the dead email address

ARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looks like ill be on phone tomorrow again like last time trying to fix something that should have been fixed years ago

thankfully i paid by paypal and if the problem is not solved tomorrow morning within 10 mins of dialing your number ill just block any future payments

if Bill Gates makes $300 per second you would think he would be able to pay someone to make this user experience pleasurable....

can anyone tell me how many threads have been created with this title?

i bet its hundreds of thousands lol

Hi there,

calling Xbox Support will help you solve the issue to turn auto renewall off, you can do this via support.xbox.com/contact-us

-

But to be able to do it your self in the future you will need update your security proof settings.

The how to can be found here:

support.xbox.com/.../security-proofs

also the part on how to delete them if you can't access them.

Keep in mind that updating/deleting them will take at least 30 days untill processed.

1) Bill Gates no longer works for Microsoft, he retired four years ago

2) Keeping up to date with the verification information is very important, since it is so easy to hack passwords these days. http://arstechnica.com/security/2012/12/25-gpu-cluster-cracks-every-standard-windows-password-in-6-hours/

2A) Go to http://account.live.com password in there and click on Edit security info  OR

2B) on the Xbox 360 console, sign into your account, go to  Settings | Account | -> -> Account Security | Security Proofs & update them.

3) You can call Xbox Billing Support using Option 1 and your national phone support line at http://tinyurl.com/XBLnumbers
