Can't transfer data loaded onto Flash Drive

Hi, I'm having a massive problem. I have an old 20GB 360, I purchased a 60GB HDD for more space. I wanted to transfer the data from the 20 to the 60, so I used an 8GB Transcend flash drive. I formatted it as prompted, transferred the profiles and most of the games saves onto the drive. It all seemed to work fine.

The problem is that when I swapped in the 60GB HDD it doesn't recognise the flash drive as having any data on it, it merely says 'configure now'. If I put the old 20GB hdd back on the xbox it says exactly the same thing. 

I've been researching this for days online, I can't seem to find any answer, I've tried removing the flash drive, inserting it after booting up the xbox, but it just won't see any data on there.

Can anyone please help, I don't want to lose four years worth of game saves!

has your xbox been connected to live with the 60gig hd attatched?

Yeah it has, I created a new profile before transferring the data because my old profile was a UK one, now i live in Australia I want to have an account for this region. I don't really care about my gamer score or gamertag, I just wanted to have my game saves. Do I need to wipe the 60GB drive?

Also what brand on USB? I've heard that some of them can be somewhat iffy.

The brand is Transcend, never heard of it before. But there were no problems with the configuring and the transferring, it took about 20 minutes for the transfer so it all looked good.

try transfering your new profile to the thumbdrive from the 60 gig - then turn off change over hard drives - does it still doing what it has been ?

Unfortunately it won't allow me to do that because it says that configuring the flash drive will erase all data on it. I might try erasing the data on the 60gb drive, it's only one profile.

there could be something wrong with the flash drive - your profile ant gone you can just recover it back
